A result of being literally and figuratively grounded during the 2020 Covid pandemic, I turned my creative energy toward the book arts, book structures, and traditional bookbinding methods. From various styles of Coptic stitch bindings to the ancient Japanese stab stitch bindings, to more modern square-backed Bradel bindings and rounded/backed cased-in bindings, I aim to create unique, hand-crafted journals for writing, water coloring, sketching and drawing. Archival materials are used whenever possible. The text block of the book is made with a superfine paper that makes any pen feel like a gel pen. Marbled and other decorative papers are sourced from India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Thailand, and more.
