Under the Stars
About the Location: The small city of Leh, India is nestled into the foothills of the Himalayas in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Formerly the capital of the Kingdom of Ladakh, it sits at nearly 12,000 feet above sea level. From there, a 1.5-hour drive will get you into the mountains near a small village called Rumbak, accessible only by foot. We camped about an hour’s hike from Rumbak in sub-freezing temperatures at about 14,000 feet. The terrain was rough and unforgiving. The rewards were unmatched. continue…

Kuna Yala
About the Location: A little slice of heaven from this weekend in Kuna Yala off the northern Caribbean coast of Panama. The Kuna people are indigenous to parts of Panama and Colombia and a large number live on a series of islands where they trade goods, fish, and entertain the occasional gringo. Though the little cottages may look inviting, they were quite rustic. Just a wood box with bed, some mosquito netting and one light bulb at the end of a wire, swaying in the gentle breeze. About the Location: This is the infamous Temple Street Night Market of Hong Kong. Located just south of Mong Kok, the most densely populated neighborhood on earth, this market is a thriving part of the Kowloon experience. You can find a wide assortment of items here from souvenirs to travel accessories, but it is dominated by men’s apparel (the Ladies Market isn’t far away).
