About the Location: At dusk, a camel herder walks along a dune’s ridge of Nubra Valley, an important Silk Road trading route from China to India which continued west through what is today Pakistan, Central Asia, and all the way to Greece and Rome.
About the Shot: In the valley, I found myself in the perfect position to capture a silhouette of the herder and his camel. This was created late in the day as the sun was setting over the ridge behind me, creating a shadow for me and the subjects while still illuminating the mountains in the background.
